Basic Programme

Pillar of National Character Development

The Foundational Program is a strategic initiative meticulously designed to support adolescents and youth (aged 10-21). The program serves a dual purpose: to cultivate individuals who are competent, independent, and ethical, while simultaneously ensuring they become responsible agents of change in the formation of the nation’s character. Through the integral incorporation of National Ethos (Wawasan Kebangsaan) material, the Foundational Program functions as a practical life school. It instills fundamental values—love for the homeland, unity, and appreciation for pluralism—as the core foundation for youth contribution to Indonesia’s future.

Integrating National Ethos for the Strengthening of National Character.
The National Ethos is not taught in isolation; it is woven into the very fabric of every activity. Below are the key areas of integration, focusing on reinforcing the Nation’s Character:

  1. Leadership: Development of leadership and teamwork skills, framed by the values of integrity and collective responsibility.
  2. Outdoor Skills Training: Technical skills in navigation, mountaineering, and survival, used to cultivate discipline, resilience, and high standards of preparedness.
  3. Environmental Stewardship: Development of skills in environmental management and nature conservation, reinforcing the belief that preserving nature is a tangible expression of love for the homeland.
  4. Mental Wellness: Increasing awareness and skills in stress management and enhancing mental well-being, crucial for building the inner fortitude required for national contribution.
  5. Community Engagement: Development of skills in social involvement, community participation, and social activities, emphasizing the spirit of mutual cooperation and unity in diversity.
